Andrew Doran

Andrew Doran served in the military and at the State Department, founded an advocacy organization for Christians in the Middle East, and authored scores of essays and articles, including numerous dispatches from across the Middle East.

His work has been published in The Wall Street JournalForeign PolicyFirst ThingsNational ReviewCommentaryCNNThe American InterestThe National InterestThe European Conservative, and numerous other publications and journals.

He served at the U.S. Department of State in various capacities over thirteen years, including three years on the Secretary’s Policy Planning Staff, the office founded by diplomat George Kennan. In 2012 he founded In Defense of Christians (IDC), which played a key role in the U.S. government’s recognition of the ISIS genocide against Christians and Yazidis and, later, the delivery of emergency aid to those communities in the Middle East. 

He will be writing an upcoming book on Israel, Christians, and the Middle East.
